Mit einem Gesamtbudget von 286 Millionen Euro werden Projekte zu folgende Themenbereichen gefördert:
 
● Cognitive systems and robotics
● Digital libraries and digital preservation
● Virtual physiological human
● ICT for mobility of the future
● FET proactive: Molecular-scale devices and systems bzw. Brain-inspired ICT
● Coordinating communities, plans & actions in FET proactive initiatives
● Identifying new research topics, assessing emerging global S&T trends in
   ICT for future FET Proactive initiatives
● International Cooperation
● Supplements to support international cooperation between ongoing projects

Die Ausschreibung fokussiert sich unter anderem auf die Themengebiete Cognitive Systems, Digital Libraries & Content, Towards sustainable and personalised healthcare sowie auf Future and Emerging Technologies.
Zu diesen Schwerpunkten veranstaltet die FFG gemeinsam mit regionalen Kooperationspartnern vier themenspezifische Informationsnachmittage unter dem Titel „ICT on Tour":
